Job description

Reporting to:ย ย ย ย  Production Technical Designer

Job Summary:

The Associate Technical Designer will support the Full Price Design team, primarily assisting the Production Technical Designer in creating easy to read woven and or knitwear technical packages, including construction details, complete and accurate technical drawings, spec sheets, testing requirements, packaging and labelling specifications.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented and resolution-minded team player, having excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Production Technical Designer by initiating technical packets including completion of Cover Page, selection of POMs, Construction Details and photographing and specing fit samples
  • Assist Design team with the specing, technical packet prep at Proto stages
  • Efficiency in PLM: Generate specs and manage styles in PLM
  • Track deliveries and receipt of samples in a fit list
  • Send pre-sealer fit comments
  • Organize a physical fit sample library and file fit samples appropriately and efficiently
  • Attend fit sessions with clear note taking
  • Minor pattern corrections in Illustrator, Excel
  • Vendor communicationย 
  • 3-5 years of Woven & Knitwear apparel, technical design and patternmaking
  • Working knowledge of garment construction, fit and pattern correction
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, with a high proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and photoshop
  • Knowledge of PLM a plus
  • Passion for fashion industry technical design
  • Associate degree in patternmaking, technical design or equivalent professional experience
