Job Title: General Production
Job Description

This role supports a high-volume, 24/7 plastic extrusion manufacturing facility by assisting production across multiple lines, including Laminator, Knitting, Roll Converter, and Extruder. There are multiple openings, including two positions that will train on a day shift before moving to a 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. third shift on a 4 days on / 4 days off schedule in the Converter Department. Team members perform a variety of manufacturing, machine operation, and general production tasks while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist production operations on the Laminator, Knitting, Roll Converter, and Extruder lines as assigned.
  • Perform core extracting on the four affected areas on each line, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
  • Monitor product quality closely, identifying and addressing quality issues in real time.
  • Wrap rolls of finished product securely and prepare them for further processing or shipment.
  • Monitor the extrusion process, making adjustments as directed to maintain proper operating conditions.
  • Mix chemicals according to established procedures and safety guidelines to support production requirements.
  • Utilize lift-assist equipment and other tools to handle materials safely and efficiently.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds frequently during the shift, with regular bending, twisting, pulling, and pushing of an air bar into cores.
  • Stand for long periods of time throughout the shift while performing production tasks.
  • Walk up stairs and work on catwalks in certain roles, remaining comfortable working at heights where required.
  • Perform inspection and basic quality checks on products and materials to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Carry out assembly, packaging, and general labor tasks as needed to support overall production flow.
  • Operate production and manufacturing machines safely, following all operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Document relevant information accurately and maintain attention to detail in all recordkeeping activities.
  • Use problem-solving and analytical skills to identify issues and support continuous improvement in the production process.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and other team members, reporting progress and explaining data or action items that need attention.
  • Follow all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate a strong willingness to perform assigned tasks, as evaluated during the plant tour.
  • Adhere to scheduled hours, arrive on time, and maintain reliable attendance to support consistent production operations.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very large plastic extrusion manufacturing facility that operates around the clock. Production runs on multiple lines, including Laminator, Knitting, Roll Converter, and Extruder, with departments offering varying shift times. Some positions train on a day shift and then transition to a 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. third shift on a 4 days on / 4 days off schedule in the Converter Department. The facility requires the use of full personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe or composite safety shoes, and respirators in certain departments. Team members can expect frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, extended periods of standing, regular bending and twisting, and tasks that involve pulling and pushing equipment such as air bars into cores. Some roles require walking up stairs and working on catwalks, so comfort with heights is important in those areas. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficient production, supported by machinery, lift-assist devices, and clearly defined operating procedures.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.50/hr.
