Job description

The VGK Marketing Gameday Staff position is designed for students who want to gain first-hand experience on the front lines of a professional sports team. Under the direction of the Marketing Department leadership team, the gameday staff will assist in the preparation and execution of fan-centric activations (home games, watch parties, fan fest, etc.)
Duties and tasks:
  • Work a majority of Vegas Golden Knights home games (Minimum 15-20 games).
  • Responsible for set-up and distribution of giveaways during home games.
  • Support in set-up and break-down for events in Toshiba Plaza.
  • Serve as first contact and representative with attendees/fans both in arena and other VGK events.
  • Assist leadership team, sales team members and other departments as needed.
  • Assist with execution of team branded events.
  • Work to help grow the sport of hockey in the community.
  • Work watch parties and other events throughout year as needed.
  • Ability to work and assist with other Foley Entertainment Group properties (i.e. the Henderson Silver Knights and Vegas Knight Hawks) events as needed.

Learning Objectives:
  • Gain a better understanding of all aspects of sports marketing including fan development.
  • Gain hands-on experience with marketing and fan development-based events in a professional sports environment.
  • Experience hands-on what it takes to execute gamedays from a marketing/fan engagement standpoint.

Future Growth:
As a member of our gameday staff, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your skills and enthusiasm while supporting the Vegas Golden Knights during live events and preparation of those events. In addition to gaining valuable hands-on experience, top-performing individuals will be considered for future internship opportunities with the VGK Marketing Team, offering a pathway to further professional development and involvement in our dynamic marketing efforts.
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during office work, events, and game-day activations.
  • Ability to walk throughout event spaces, arenas, and community event locations.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of event materials and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for computer use, event setup, and handling materials.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, event details, and written materials.
  • Hearing and speaking ability to participate in meetings, communicate with guests, and support event operations.

Work Environment:
  • Professional office, arena, and community event environments.
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere with frequent interaction with staff, fans, donors, and community partners.
  • Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, games, and special events.
  • Standard office equipment including computer, phone, printer, and related technology.
  • May require attendance at sporting events, community activations, fundraising events, and business functions outside normal office hours.
