Job description

SUMMARY:  Maintains clean and orderly appearance of assigned section within the mall area and provides informational assistance to guests by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Maintains trash receptacles and urns.
  • Removes gum found on the mall surface.
  • Removes liquid spills immediately to avoid safety hazards.
  • Notifies leads of bio-hazard clean-up or graffiti removal needed.
  • Maintains equipment to ensure it remains clean and ready for on-coming shift.
  • Maintain planters by removing trash and replacing cigarette butts.
  • Wipes down all Duratran signs.
  • Wipes down all columns and bollards.
  • Wipe down all magazine racks and signs.
  • Answers questions and provides directional assistance for guests.
  • Assists in the set-up and tear-down for special events as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   The requirements listed below are representative of their knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • Minimum of three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a friendly, courteous manner with management, guests, other employees of the company and the general public.
  • Ability to correctly and safely use cleaning solutions and solvents.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands

  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands to use tools, controls, reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.
  • Must be able to but not limited to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform the duties of this job in outside weather conditions including but not limited to cold weather and very hot weather.
  • Must be able to endure working near moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborn particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Must be able to endure moderate noise levels in work area.

All employees are provided with the required Personal Protective Equipment required for their job.  High touch areas will be sanitized frequently.
