Job description

The Tahoe Knight Monsters are seeking an energetic, outgoing, and enthusiastic individual to serve as the team's Mascot throughout the Knight Monsters season. This individual will bring the Knight Monsters mascot to life by creating memorable experiences for fans of all ages while representing the team's brand at home games, community events, and promotional appearances. The Mascot will work closely with the game presentation team, front office staff, and community relations team to entertain fans, drive engagement, and help create the exciting, family-friendly atmosphere that defines Knight Monsters hockey.
Position Overview:
  • Perform as the Knight Monsters mascot at home games, community events, and promotional appearances.
  • Engage with fans through physical comedy, improvisation, photo opportunities, and interactive entertainment.
  • Participate in pregame, intermission, and postgame activities, contests, skits, and promotions.
  • Maintain the mascot's personality and character throughout all appearances.
  • Support school visits, youth hockey events, sponsor activations, charity events, parades, and community programs.
  • Collaborate with the game presentation team and follow direction during live events.
  • Report any costume damage or maintenance needs after appearances.
  • Represent the Tahoe Knight Monsters in a positive and professional manner.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Previous mascot, theater, dance, cheer, improv, or sports entertainment experience preferred, but not required.
  • Outgoing personality with strong improvisational and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable performing in front of large crowds and interacting with fans of all ages.
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and able to take direction.
  • Available for evenings, weekends, holidays, and select community appearances.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear a full mascot costume for 60 minutes at a time, games will last over 2 ½ hours.
  • Ability to stand, walk, dance, and perform high-energy movements.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in warm conditions while wearing the costume.
  • Ability to safely navigate stairs, arenas, and event environments.

Mascot Requirements:
  • Availability for Tahoe Knight Monsters home games throughout the season.
  • Availability for select community appearances, promotional events, sponsor activations, youth hockey events, and other team appearances outside of game days.
  • Flexibility to accommodate additional appearances during special events, holidays, and promotional campaigns.
