Job description

ABOUT LVT
LVT is redefining how businesses operate in the physical world, moving beyond traditional security solutions to deliver AI-driven, actionable intelligence that makes sites smarter, safer, and more secure. Since pioneering our first mobile, solar-powered units, our commitment to scrappy, hands-on innovation has made us an established leader and one of the fastest-growing companies in intelligent site technology. We are building the next generation of solutions-from our physical units in the field to a powerful Agentic AI platform-that allows our customers to gain unprecedented visibility and control over safety, compliance, and operations. This is your chance to join a cutting-edge team that isn't just watching the world change, but actively building the technology that is changing it.
We're a team that's focused on growth and innovation, and we're proud that our crew, products, and leadership are being recognized for it.
  • A Top-Tier Growth Company: Named one of the Financial Times' Fastest Growing Companies 2025 and #10 on the Inc. 5000 Rocky Mountain Regional list for 2025.
  • Innovative Leadership: Our CEO, Ryan Porter, was named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2025, and our CTO, Steve Lindsey, was inducted into the Silicon Slopes CTO Hall of Fame in 2024.
  • Product & Software Excellence: We were named one of The Software Report's Top 100 Software Companies of 2023 and are a winner of the Security Today Govies Award for 2025.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer at LVT, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling software across our entire user interface surface area and the mission-critical backend services supporting it. You will own features end-to-end-from building responsive React applications to optimizing our federated GraphQL subgraphs. Working alongside a highly collaborative team, your engineering judgment will directly shape how enterprise customers interact with real-time IoT data and advanced automated workflows.
This role requires onsite work at our American Fork, UT office.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver High-Quality Software End-to-End: Design, build, test, and ship robust features across our full stack, ensuring code aligns with high-performance standards from UI components to backend REST and GraphQL services.
  • Cross-Service Architecture & Debugging: Trace, isolate, and resolve complex, systemic bugs across service boundaries (UI, API gateways, subgraphs, and legacy codebases) to ensure seamless performance.
  • API & Data Integrity: Define clear data contracts between microservices, maintain schema federation hygiene, and architect secure, scalable real-time WebSocket data flows.
  • Promote Reliability and Performance: Write and run comprehensive tests, instrument critical system metrics, and build operational dashboards to proactively monitor system health and minimize downtime.
  • Technical Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and constructive code reviews to mid-level and junior engineers, encouraging best practices and continuous learning across the team.
  • Continuous Engineering Improvement: Collaborate across adjacent QA, DevOps, and architecture teams to accelerate CI/CD pipelines, enhance stack-wide type safety, and deprecate legacy systems without disrupting product delivery.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • 5+ Years of Professional Development Experience: A proven track record building enterprise-grade applications, with a heavy emphasis on full-stack TypeScript architectures.
  • Frontend & Framework Mastery: Deep production experience working with React and modern Next.js environments (including App Router and server actions).
  • Backend & API Expertise: Strong command of Node.js (NestJS preferred) and hands-on experience designing schemas, resolvers, and subscriptions using Apollo Server or similar GraphQL ecosystems.
  • Data & Real-Time Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL preferred), query builders/ORMs (like Knex), and experience scaling real-time web applications using WebSockets.
  • Security & Infrastructure Fundamentals: Solid understanding of modern authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth/OIDC, JWT) alongside familiarity with Docker, containerization, and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Problem Solver & Systems Thinker: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to dive into unfamiliar or legacy codebases, deduce business logic, and refactor effectively.
  • Compelling Communicator: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an innate ability to lead cross-team design discussions and articulate technical strategies clearly to stakeholders.

BENEFITS
We believe you do your best work when your whole life is supported. We invest in our crew's health, families, and financial futures with a benefits package designed to support you inside and outside the office. Full-time benefits include, but not limited to: Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits (401k match up to 4%), and flexible PTO.
LVT IS PROUD TO BE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status. All candidates must pass a drug screening and background check upon employment. Some roles may also require passing a federal background check and fingerprinting.
