Job description

Overview

Middleton Glen is looking for a Kitchen Utility/Prep Cook to join our dining team! You will be responsible for maintaining sanitation and cleaning of the kitchen, cookware, dishes, and service areas.  You will also assist with food preparation and dining room set-up, serving, clearing tables, and assist with inventory/kitchen stock and supply pulls. 

Compensation: $17.50 - $19.00 / hr DOE

Positions Available: Full-time (11:00am-7:30pm) and Part-time (4:00pm-8:00pm)

What You'll Be Doing:

Kitchen Utility Associate

  • Responsible for overall daily kitchen cleaning maintaining high standards of sanitation including floors, mats, equipment such as ovens and steamers, steam kettles, counter tops, carts and special cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Responsible for regular overall cleaning such as filters for the kitchen and bakery (running through dishwasher), clean walkins, wash walls etc.
  • Assist in dining room set-up, serving, clearing tables, and food preparation
  • Perform all cleaning and sanitation duties in the kitchen and serving areas, keeping all areas clean and orderly including walkins, all dining areas, and other areas as required or assigned.
  • Assist with daily recording of food and dishwasher temperatures.
  • Sweep and mop floors in assigned area.
  • Perform basic custodial duties such as empty kitchen, dining room, and office trash as needed.
  • Filter and maintain fryer as needed.
  • Assist with collection of dirty dishes and operate dish machine.

Prep Cook

  • Prepares and portions food such as salads, desserts and vegetables in accordance with production guidelines, standardized recipes, portion control and time schedules.
  • Assist with meal service and dishes as needed.
  • Puts stock away using FIFO (First in First out).
  • Review daily menus and special functions to ensure proper portion control and assist in communicating specific food needs, equipment repairs or other special needs with Chef as needed.
