Full-time

Job description

Build a Career Where Design Meets Sales
Are you a proven sales professional who enjoys meeting people, solving problems, and winning business?
Do you have the confidence to sit down with a homeowner, understand what they want, create a solution, and ask for the sale?
Closet Factory is looking for a Designer Sales Consultant to join our growing team serving [market/area] and surrounding communities.
This is not a retail sales position and it is not a traditional interior-design job.
You will meet with homeowners in their homes, learn how they use their space, identify what is not working, and design a customized solution that improves both the organization and functionality of their home.
Our products include:
  • Custom closets
  • Home offices
  • Pantries
  • Garages
  • Mudrooms
  • Entertainment centers
  • Laundry rooms
  • Other custom home-organization solutions

You don't need to be a professional designer to succeed. We can teach you our design system and CAD software. What we can't teach is drive, work ethic, confidence, and the ability to build trust with a customer.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
At Closet Factory, you aren't sitting in a showroom waiting for customers to walk through the door.
We provide pre-qualified appointments, professional training, design tools, and the production and installation support needed to deliver the finished project.
You are responsible for the part that matters most:
Meet the customer. Understand their needs. Design the solution. Earn their trust. Close the sale.
You will have the independence to manage your schedule and the opportunity to build your income based on your performance.
What You'll Do
  • Meet homeowners for scheduled in-home design consultations
  • Build rapport and establish trust with customers
  • Identify customer needs and recommend customized solutions
  • Measure and evaluate spaces
  • Design projects using our CAD/design software
  • Prepare and present professional proposals
  • Present pricing and close sales
  • Manage customer relationships from initial consultation through installation
  • Follow up with customers and maintain strong communication throughout the project
  • Develop referral and networking opportunities
  • Consistently achieve individual sales goals

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is driven to succeed, takes ownership of their results, and is comfortable asking for the business.
You should have:
  • A proven record of success in sales
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence working directly with homeowners
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills
  • Strong follow-through and attention to detail
  • Self-discipline and personal accountability
  • The ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • A professional appearance and demeanor
  • The ability and willingness to learn design software and CAD
  • Reliable transportation and a laptop computer

Experience That Can Help You Succeed
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
  • In-home sales
  • Consultative or high-ticket sales
  • Interior design
  • Space planning
  • CAD or design software
  • Kitchen and bath design
  • Remodeling or residential construction
  • Flooring, windows, roofing, or other home-improvement sales
  • Luxury retail
  • Furniture or home furnishings

Sales ability and attitude are more important than having previous closet or design experience.
What We Provide
You will receive the tools and support needed to build a successful career:
  • Comprehensive paid training
  • Professional design and CAD training
  • Pre-qualified company-provided appointments
  • Ongoing sales coaching and mentorship
  • Professional design and presentation tools
  • Production and installation support
  • Flexible scheduling and significant autonomy
  • Opportunities for referrals and repeat business
  • A nationally recognized brand with more than 40 years of experience

You will not be expected to manufacture, install, or manage construction crews. Your focus is the customer, the design, and the sale.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a performance-based sales position with significant income potential.
  • Paid training
  • Commission-based compensation following training
  • Company-provided pre-qualified leads
  • Flexible schedule
  • Career advancement opportunities

First-Year Income Potential
$40,000-$80,000+
Actual earnings depend on sales performance, ramp-up speed, activity level, and individual results.
Experienced, high-performing consultants have the opportunity to build six-figure earning potential over time.
Who Succeeds at Closet Factory?
Our strongest consultants tend to be people who:
  • Like to win
  • Are motivated by income and achievement
  • Are comfortable talking with homeowners and decision-makers
  • Can quickly build trust and credibility
  • Are coachable and willing to improve
  • Take responsibility for their results
  • Enjoy solving problems
  • Can balance creativity with sales discipline
  • Are organized and follow through
  • Want independence without giving up the support of a team

You don't have to be a designer today.
You do need to be willing to learn, willing to work, and willing to sell.
Ready for Your Next Career?
If you're an experienced sales professional looking for an opportunity where your effort and results directly influence your income, we'd like to meet you.
Join a company with an established reputation, proven systems, professional training, and the opportunity to build a long-term career in custom home design and sales.
