About the Role

Are you looking to master a skilled trade? Our healthy supermarket is looking for a Meat Cutter to join our team! We take pride in offering our community the highest quality grass-fed, organic, and locally-sourced proteins.

Whether you are an experienced butcher or someone with strong knife skills from a professional kitchen looking to transition into a retail career, we want to talk to you. For the right candidate with a great work ethic and a passion for food, we are happy to provide on-the-job training.

What You’ll Do

  • The Craft: Prepare, cut, and trim meat (beef, poultry, pork) to store standards and customer specifications.
  • Merchandising: Maintain a beautiful, clean, and fully stocked meat case that showcases our premium products.
  • Customer Service: Act as an expert for our shoppers—giving advice on different cuts, cooking temperatures, and meal prep ideas.
  • Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a spotless workspace. You’ll follow all food safety protocols (HACCP) and keep equipment like saws and grinders in top shape.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with receiving deliveries, checking for freshness, and ensuring proper labeling and rotation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Previous experience in a meat department or commercial kitchen is a plus, but not required if you have the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Knife Skills: Comfortable working with sharp tools and heavy machinery.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work in a cold (refrigerated) environment. You should be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Detail Oriented: You take pride in the "finishing touches"—ensuring every cut looks professional and appetizing.
