Responsibilities

KITCHEN MANAGER

Position Summary: The Kitchen Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities of the Food Service Department which includes providing nutritional and attractive meals for patients and facility employees, maintaining an organized and sanitary environment, monitoring supply inventories and purchasing of food and supplies as required, ensuring proper storage of food and supplies and managing an effective food service staff.

Qualifications

Kitchen Manager Job Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Supervisory experience and 1-2 years of food service experience in a healthcare facility preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Certified Food Service Operator Certificate,  Certified Dietary Manager  (CDM) or Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) prefered.
  • Working Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of food preparation utilizing menus, kitchen equipment and kitchen cleaning methods/products, safety and infection control practices. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.  Demonstrates proficient time management skills.
  • Essential Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion, including bending, handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.  Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies of 50 lbs or more.
