Job Summary 
The Kitchen Helper supports the culinary team in the daily operations of the kitchen, including basic food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen hygiene. This role ensures that ingredients and kitchen equipment are properly handled and organized, contributing to smooth and efficient kitchen operations. The ideal candidate is reliable, eager to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities 
Food Preparation & Support
  • Assist chefs in preparing dim sum and other menu items.
  • Carry out basic food preparation tasks such as washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
  • Support daily mise en place for kitchen operations.
  • Help with steaming, pan-frying, and deep-frying under the chef’s guidance. 
Kitchen Hygiene & Maintenance
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen area, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage, labelling, and handling of ingredients and finished products.
  • Dispose of kitchen waste properly and keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene standards. 
Operational Support 
  • Assist with kitchen opening and closing duties.
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks assigned by the Head Chef or supervisors.
  • Work cooperatively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations. 
Job Requirements
  • Prior experience in a Chinese or dim sum kitchen is an advantage; however, those without experience but with a willingness to learn are welcome.
  • Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours. 
  • Able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
