Job Description Summary: MaineGeneral Health is hiring a dependable, hardworking Cook to join our Food & Nutrition team at the Alzheimer's Care Center in Augusta. This is a hands-on role where your work directly supports residents every day through quality meal preparation.
This position offers variable hours, allowing team members to stay flexible and support all aspects of the kitchen operation.Job Description:

What You'll Do:

Review menus and special orders to determine types and quantities of food to be prepared

Cook and prepare meals for patients/residents, cafeteria service, and catering needs

Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency and quality

Prepare daily menu items to ensure food is ready at scheduled service times

Assist with customer-facing and service duties as needed

Adhere to all food safety guidelines, including proper storage, handling, and preparation

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and work area

Work as part of a team to keep meal service running smoothly and on time

In the absence of department leadership, help guide staff to complete daily responsibilities

This is a physically active role. You will be on your feet, bending, lifting, and moving throughout your shift.

Compensation Information:$18.00 - $31.50

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
