Job description

About the role

Oregon Tile and Design is a tile, stone, and flooring showroom in Salem and part of the Oregon Five Star family of companies. We sell and install residential tile, stone, and flooring, and we're building toward a full design-and-install operation under one roof. We're hiring a Store Manager to run the showroom and own how it grows.

This is a manager's job, not a sales associate's. You run the day to day, you own the numbers, and you're the owner's right hand on where the business goes next. We are not looking for someone to do everything themselves. We are looking for someone who can study the operation, build a plan, and come to the owner with "here's how we grow, and here's where we should bring in outside help." You decide what we build in-house and what we outsource, then you make it happen.

You report directly to the owner and lead our showroom and install team.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years managing a showroom, a branch, a book of business, or a small operation, ideally in tile, flooring, kitchen and bath, building materials, or a related trade
  • Someone who thinks like an owner. You've built a plan, brought it to a decision-maker, and executed it, and you know the difference between work you should do yourself and work you should hand off.
  • A track record of long-cycle relationship selling. You've nurtured a relationship for months before it paid off, and you can keep many of them moving at once.
  • Comfort running a CRM and keeping data clean (Floorzap, RFMS, ProTracker, or similar is a plus)
  • Familiarity with construction or design is a strong plus (tile, stone, Schluter systems, thinset, waste factors). We'll teach the rest.
  • Connections in Salem's design, build, or remodel community (HBA Marion-Polk, ASID, NARI) are a plus

Why this role

You get real ownership and a direct line to the owner. The showroom has good bones, a strong install crew, and a market that's wide open for someone who takes hold of it. We want that person to be you, and we'll back your plan with the budget to bring in help where it makes sense. As the business grows, so does the role and the pay.

Compensation and benefits

  • $72,000 to $85,000 base, depending on experience
  • Commission on revenue from the designer and builder accounts you grow
  • Health insurance contribution, 401(k) match, paid time off, and a professional development budget
  • All-in target of $86,000 to $100,000 in year one as commission ramps, with room to grow as the business does

How to apply

Apply here with your resume and a short note answering one question: if you walked into our showroom on day one, what is the first thing you would want to change? We review applications as they come in and reach out to set up a phone conversation.
