Job description

Summary:

In accordance with department policies and procedures, the cook is responsible for the preparation and serving of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner; operating and cleaning kitchen equipment; and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen and service areas.

Shift: 11:00am - 7:00pm working weekends 

Pay: $16 - $17/hr 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, cooks and serves food in accordance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Prepares high-quality food according to standardized menus and recipes to meet production needs and meal service schedules.
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe environment in the kitchen at all times.
  • Complies with food safety standards and guidelines during all phases of food handling.
  • Adheres to portion control by using standardized recipes and proper utensils for measurement.
  • Accurately determines quantities of food to be prepared. Prepares meals that meet the needs of clients with diet restrictions.
  • Completes all required documentation including but not limited to food and equipment temperature logs.
  • Washes and sanitizes dishes, utensils and equipment, and returns to proper storage areas as requested.
  • Performs daily and/or scheduled cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures; reports needed maintenance and faulty equipment to supervisor immediately.
  • Assists in assuring the proper receiving, rotating and storage of food and supplies.
  • Maintains excellent customer service and resolves client concerns in a professional manner.
  • Promptly reports workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses.
  • Completes required trainings and mandatory training hours.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

Education/Experience:

  • ServSafe Certification Previous food service experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.
