  • Starting at $18 and up to $20 based on experience

  • You will be working as a floater in classrooms and helping in the daycare kitchen

We have immediate opening for a floater/kitchen staff at Kiddie Academy of Wexford/Cranberry Twp. We pride ourselves on serving nutritious, wholesome meals and snacks as well as delivering meals that kids like and will eat. This is a heat and serve kitchen, not using raw items.

Teaching experience is required for this job.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Familiarity with proper conditions and food storage, the ability to understand the needs of children with food allergies, and to implement methods of food cross- contamination avoidance.
  • Ability to follow and prepare sufficient quantity of foods for Academy children
  • Possess a Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain
  • At least one year of institutional cooking -- food ordering experience highly desirable
  • One or more years of experience working with children, highly desirable
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English. Basic math skills required for measuring and calculating serving portions

Essential Functions

  • Requires mobility and standing on feet for extended period in the kitchen.
  • Plans and prepares snacks and meals in accordance with posted menus and nutrition regulations.
  • Determines meal and snack count and distributes food to each classroom.
  • Removes trays and leftovers from classrooms and disposes accordingly.
  • Performs weekly food and supply inventory; submits list of needed items to Management.
  • Orders food and supply items from approved supplier, within budget set by Management.
  • Checks-in supply deliveries to ensure accuracy of order placed.
  • Ensures that all state and local health department, licensing, safety and nutritional requirements are met; follows standards of personal hygiene, safety, and sanitation and ensures that other staff in kitchen do the same.
  • Keeps kitchen, including appliances, cabinets and all inventory, organized and clean.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, training sessions, and academy events as requested.
