Get a jump start on a summer job!
The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is a non-profit organization that provides summer camp opportunities to Florida's Youth. We operate three traditional sleep away camps along with a traveling day camp program.
Currently we are hiring for our Kitchen Aide Food Services positions. Come work a few hours a month (PRN) now until the start of our summer season in May when you will transition to full time for the summer.
Job Type: PRN September - April & Then Full-Time May - August
Pay: $16.00 per hour
SUMMARY
The Kitchen Aide assists in the preparation and serving of food at the chuckwagon and maintains the chuckwagon and dining area in a sanitary condition. The work is subject to review by state authorities, as well as the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches administrative personnel. While the Kitchen Aide acts as an assistant to the Cook within the chuckwagon setting, this position reports directly to the Camp Director. This position is eligible for overtime pay.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities are the various types of work performed in this position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
  1. Assists in the preparation and serving of food for youth, staff, and guests of the facility in a friendly and efficient manner.
  1. Maintains the cleanliness and attractiveness of foods, food processing equipment, and the kitchen and dining areas in the chuckwagon.
  1. Cleans chuckwagon kitchen area, including cooking and serving dishes and utensils, removal of debris, sweeping and mopping floors, food storage, etc.
  1. Provides assistance to the Cooks to ensure that quality food services and health standards are maintained at all times within the chuckwagon.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The person filling this position must have a high school diploma or GED. Prior food service or commercial kitchen experience is preferred. On-the-job training will be considered for those who lack experience but show a strong willingness to learn. ServSafe Food Handler certification must be attained within the first 14 days of employment.
