KIPP Public Schools is a network of 279 schools with more than 16,000 educators and 210,000 students and alumni, including Indianapolis. KIPP Indy Public Schools (KIPP Indy) was founded in 2004 with one class of fifth-grade students and has grown to serve 1,500 students across three schools. Of the students that attend KIPP Indy, 93% qualify for free and reduced lunch, 95% are African American or LatinX, 12% receive special education services, and 8% are designated as Emerging Bilinguals. As we continue to grow, our mission remains the same: to create joyful, academically excellent schools in which teachers, students, and families are all united around the same goal of preparing students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose -college, career, and beyond- so they can lead fulfilling lives and create a more just world.

Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Indy Unite Elementary is seeking an enrichment teacher to provide high-quality instruction for grades K-5.
Teachers at KIPP Indy Unite Elementary are responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, rigorous instruction in their classroom that produces strong results and student understanding. Teachers will use data to inform their instruction and do whatever it takes for all students to learn. Teachers at KIPP Indy Unite are committed to leading and teaching through an anti-racist lens, will work to make their classrooms safe, joyful environments, and build relationships with their students to ensure every student can be successful.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create lesson plans in specific subject areas for the grade K-5 and lead instruction for students in your class.
  • Use a variety of engaging, age-appropriate instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, ensuring every child is actively involved in their learning.
  • Regularly assess student performance and leverage data to inform instructional decisions, providing targeted support and interventions to promote academic progress.
  • Maintain high expectations for all students, regardless of age or ability, and implement age-appropriate interventions that foster growth in both academic and social-emotional areas.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement, curiosity, and a love of learning.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families, maintaining open communication to support student success and strengthen the school community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and ensure cohesive instructional planning.
  • Implement classroom management strategies that promote a respectful, responsible, and supportive classroom culture.
  • Provide individualized support for students who need additional academic or behavioral assistance, ensuring that all learners can meet their full potential.

  • Proven record of fostering academic success in diverse, underserved communities (preferred).
  • Experience in using data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes (preferred).
  • Unwavering commitment to KIPP Indy's mission and vision (required).
  • Pass a criminal background check, as required by law (required).
  • Possess a strong knowledge of content area (Preferred)

Additional Information
Licensed teacher starting at $50,000
Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a highly competitive benefits package. Opportunities for performance-based bonuses are also available.
