Zingerman's Miss Kim Front of House Staff

Miss Kim Korean Restaurant, a part of Zingerman's Community of Businesses, is looking for front of house service staff!

We are looking for high energy individuals who are passionate about giving great service, learning about great food and engaging in their work! We offer flexible schedules, though weekend availability is a must, and the opportunity to work for a fun and exciting Zingerman's business. Taking part in building the systems that run our day-to-day is expected from each member of our small team at Zingerman's Miss Kim Korean Restaurant.


Previous serving experience is preferred, but not required - experience as a salesperson, a barista, a bar-back or a background in theatre are encouraged to apply! We ask that all applicants, regardless of experience, be ready to hit the ground running, be adaptable to a changing work environment and are encouraged to share your ideas with the team.

  • Full-Time positions available, with availability for 4-5 shifts per week, including at least two dinner shifts Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
  • Availability on Fridays and Saturdays is highly preferred.
  • Shifts are usually 10:30am-4pm, or 4pm-10pm.
  • We are looking for someone who would have the ability to work at least 28 hours a week, and possibly as many as 35-40 hours a week.

Compensation:

  • $22.50-$24.50/hour (when tips are included)
  • There is a $0.50/hr raise once finishing orientation.
  • Also quarterly bonus is possible if we exceed the sales plan, and you have finished basic orientation.

Essential Functions

  • Engages enthusiastically with guests by making eye contact and following the 10-4 rule
  • Delivers the Zingerman's experience to all guests, including following the 3 Steps to Giving Great Service and the 5 Steps to Handling a Guest Complaint
  • Prioritizes the guest experience by anticipating needs, responding promptly to questions and concerns, and ensuring a welcoming, high-quality environment
  • Consultants with the Front of House Shift Lead regarding service decisions, guest concerns and operational questions to ensure consistent and efficient shift execution.
  • Carries the guests order to the table, double checking for accuracy
  • Can explain all ingredients in our dishes and knows the stories behind our food and beverages
  • Actively engages in learning about Korean food and culture
  • Uses Toast, third party apps, and touch-screen POS System
  • Uses Mac computer to update restaurant and menu information, daily
  • Replenishes products and supplies on the floor
  • Keeps dining areas and workspaces neat and clean, according to the documented CDC guidelines
  • Maintains safety protocols as outlined by CDC, Zingerman's Community of Business and Miss Kim.
  • Uses various equipment like electric tea pots, dishwashers, knives, and any others as training progresses
  • Positively responds to direction and does not shy away from requesting assistance from co-workers, supervisors, managers and guests
  • Treats guests and co-workers with courtesy and respect
  • Utilizes time well by keeping busy and staying productive with restaurant sidework
  • Actively engages in documenting and updating standard operating procedures
  • Documents customer compliments, complaints and suggestions using ZXi and code reds/code greens system
  • Attends huddles and training classes as scheduled and required
