Position: Kids Care Associate

Classification: Part-time, Hourly, Non-exempt

Entity: The Christian Family Centre

Reports to: Assistant Centre Director

ABOUT US.

Lenawee Christian Ministries provides Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ. The ministry is made up of two operating entities: Lenawee Christian School and the Christian Family Centre, located in Adrian, MI.

  • Lenawee Christian School exists in partnership with the family and church to integrate Biblical truth for life with a commitment to glorifying Jesus Christ through academic excellence and spiritual maturity.
  • The Christian Family Centre is a world-class fitness and family activity facility that strives to assist families and individuals grow in their physical, social, and spiritual wellness with Jesus Christ being the center.

POSITION SUMMARY.

The Kids Care Associate is responsible for providing safe, attentive, and nurturing supervision for children participating in Centre childcare programs. This role ensures a secure environment where the children can explore, learn, and play while parents utilize Centre services. The Kids Care Associate maintains continuous supervision, enforces childcare policies, and models Christ-centered care and professionalism in all interactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

Child Supervision & Care

  • Provide continuous and attentive supervision of children at all times.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote safety, creativity, and positive interaction.
  • Ensure proper child-to-staff ratios are maintained.
  • Maintain awareness of each child’s location and well-being during shifts.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all Centre childcare policies and procedures.
  • Oversee check-in and check-out processes to ensure children are released only to authorized individuals.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to injuries, illnesses, or emergencies.
  • Complete incident reports accurately and promptly when required.
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or obtain within required timeframe).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe childcare environment.

Communication & Professional Conduct

  • Warmly welcome children and parents and provide professional, respectful communication.
  • Communicate concerns or incidents promptly to the Assistant Centre Director.
  • Demonstrate calm and appropriate responses in high-pressure or behavioral situations.
  • Support teamwork and provide shift coverage as needed.
  • Contribute ideas for program improvement.

Operational Support

  • Complete assigned cleaning and organizational tasks.
  • Assist with enforcement of Centre policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS.

Christian Faith & Character

  • Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Exhibit a consistent Christian testimony and adherence to biblical principles in personal and professional life.
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, humility, and a strong commitment to excellence and servant leadership

Experience & Attributes

  • Minimum one year of experience working with children preferred.
  • Ability to relate well to children and parents.
  • Strong multitasking and situational awareness skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification required (or ability to obtain).
  • Must successfully complete required background screening.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS.

  • This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt W-2 position.
  • Work schedules may vary based on program demand.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining required certifications and compliance with Centre childcare policies.
