KIDS FIRST is a compassionate, child-centered program dedicated to serving children with special healthcare needs from six weeks to five years old. Within our pediatric day healthcare clinics, children for with developmental delays and other special medical needs receive intensive, nurturing, and individualized early developmental services-setting the foundation for lifelong growth and success.
About the Role: Child Development Technician:
In this hands-on and rewarding role, the Child Development Technician partners closely with the Early Childhood Development Specialist to provide daily care, support, and developmental interventions for children from birth to age five with special medical and developmental needs.

Kids First serves children with special healthcare needs ranging in age from six weeks to five years. In our pediatric day healthcare clinics, children diagnosed as having a medical condition known to place them at risk for developmental delays and disabilities receive intensive intervention.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED PLUS six (6) months experience working in the care of children other education can be substituted for experience including CCOT, CDA, AA, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related filed.
  • Candidate must pass state abuse registry checks, drug screen, submit to a TB skin test and required immunizations or provide proof of immunizations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality direct patient care for a group of young children including serving mealtimes, assisting with feeding, diapering, and dressing.

  • Provides developmentally appropriate behavioral guidance within daily scheduled activities.

  • Follows the direction of the ECDS to provide individualized developmental services of their assigned treatment rooms in a manner that is child-centered, family focused, and demonstrates evidence-based or best practice.

  • Establishes exciting learning environments for young children and apply curriculum to address the objectives contained in each child's treatment plan.
