RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Firmware Security Engineer in Redmond, WA.
Summary:
Join a cutting-edge engineering team focused on building next-generation firmware security analysis platforms for Azure Hardware Security. This role combines C++, Python, LLVM, AI/LLM technologies, and automated security testing to identify vulnerabilities in firmware at scale. You'll develop security analysis pipelines, compiler-based tooling, fuzzing frameworks, and AI-assisted automation that improve firmware security across complex hardware environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop software in C++, Python, and LLVM
* Build automated firmware security and vulnerability detection pipelines
* Create and enhance fuzzing, static analysis, and compiler-based tooling
* Collaborate with security researchers and platform engineers to build scalable security solutions
* Improve CI/CD processes, testing, automation, and open-source readiness
* Participate in architecture reviews and complex technical problem solving
REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong software engineering background with C++ and Python
* Experience with compilers, LLVM, security tooling, fuzzing, or systems programming
* Knowledge of firmware, low-level systems, or vulnerability research
* Exposure to AI/LLM-powered development tools is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
