Description
SUMMARY
The Mechanical Quality Inspector I use basic metrology equipment to verify that parts meet drawings and specifications. Responsibilities also include writing nonconformance reports, process transactions in the ERP system, and performing visual inspections.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Keep work area organized and clean
  • Follows visual management rules
  • Completes paper inspection records, electronic records, and other relevant process steps
  • Basic understanding of relevant QMS documents
  • Able to read mechanical drawings to determine nominal dimensions and tolerances
  • Able to accurately use the following inspection equipment: caliper, standard tolerance, and tight tolerance (Deltronic) gauge pin, thread gage, and angle gage
  • Evaluate cosmetic flaws and accurately to determine conformance of parts
  • Can write basic nonconforming reports. Consults higher level inspectors before finalizing the report
  • Laser micrometer for tight tolerance pin calibration
  • Operate Keyence Optical system

Requirements

  • Some knowledge of GD&T drawing callouts (know the symbols and what they mean
