Associates Degree Required
1 - 3 years experience required.
Responsibilities:
Develops and monitors the work activities in the Histology Lab and the Morgue. Performs routine histological activities of receiving, preparing, and processing surgical specimens for patients.
REQUIRED:
1. All applicants should meet the following education/experience requirements: a. Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program, or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences. b. Certified as an HT/HTL (ASCP) or eligible to take the HT/HTL (ASCP) exam. Certification eligible applicants must pass examination within eighteen (18) months after school graduation or after moving to the state of Georgia. c. Two (2) years' experience in a pathology laboratory.
2. Attention to detail, good physical dexterity, and good written and oral communication skills.
3. All applicants must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening Test.
PREFERRED:
1. Computer keyboard and information system experience.
2. Immuno chemistry experience and/or training.
3. Bachelor's degree in science, plus successful completion of a formal histology tech program
