Overview

Our team of doctors, advanced care providers, nurses, therapists, and researchers provides the region's most advanced medicine at multiple facilities, campuses, clinics, and classrooms. Responsibilities
  • Responsible for complete and accurate registration of patients
  • Explains payment policies, reviews accounts for old debts, and collects payments
  • Utilizes supportive insurance information to ensure entry of correct third party data
  • Obtains information to complete various forms
  • Explains hospital policies
  • Assigns nursing floor and makes
  • bed/room assignments
  • Uses CRT and keyboard to access the Hospital Information System (HIS)
  • Obtains required signatures
  • Verifies pre-admitting tests
  • Prepares admission charts and patient cards
  • Routes patients to appropriate ancillary departments
  • Performs discharge procedures as needed
  • Adheres to Infection Control and Standard Precautions procedures/policies
  • Distributes charts and obtains missing information
  • Operates cash drawer and balances using an adding machine
  • Operates printer, fax, copiers, and installs paper/forms weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Communicates and uses appropriate customer relations skills with physicians, patients, families, health care team and staff in person and via the telephone and responds to overhead pages
  • Adheres to all applicable hospital policies and procedures including those pertaining to patient confidentiality
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
