About Our Client

Our client is a growing commercial landscaping company with approximately 100 employees serving Maryland, Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and North Carolina. Known for delivering high-quality service, strong client relationships, and operational excellence, the company is seeking an experienced General Manager to help lead its next phase of growth.


Position Overview

Reporting directly to ownership, the General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, employee development, and client satisfaction across all locations. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving company performance, supporting growth initiatives, and building a culture of accountability and teamwork.


This position is based onsite in Woodbine, Maryland, and requires periodic travel throughout the company's service territories.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily business operations across multiple locations and service territories.
  • Manage operational performance, workforce planning, labor utilization, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets, labor budgets, forecasts, and key performance metrics.
  • Provide leadership and direction to operations managers, supervisors, administrative staff, and support teams.
  • Oversee fleet, equipment, and facility operations to ensure efficiency and operational readiness.
  • Partner with ownership to establish and execute strategic priorities and growth initiatives.
  • Monitor revenue, profitability, labor costs, and overall business performance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Support client retention, service quality, and long-term customer relationships.
  • Travel regularly to support regional operations and maintain alignment across the organization.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of leadership experience within the commercial landscaping industry.
  • Proven success managing operations, teams, budgets, and business performance.
  • Strong understanding of labor management, operational planning, financial reporting, and fleet management.
  • Experience leading multi-location operations or business units preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Aspire, LMN, or similar landscaping software is a plus.
