With over 50 years of business success, we have a reputation as the world leader in specialist recruitment and workforce solutions. But joining Hays isn’t just about being part of a global business leader; it’s about making a difference in the world of work.

Are you seeking a dynamic environment where you can cultivate strategic relationships with key clients and directly contribute to their success? At Hays IT Contracting, we connect top IT professionals with the companies that need them most. If you have a strong drive for sales, value true business partnerships, and want to work in a culture built on curiosity, ownership, collaboration, and customer focus — this role is your opportunity.

YOUR NEW ROLE

As an Associate Key Account Manager in our Technology Consulting Division in Raleigh, you will join a team that is expanding and building — with real opportunity to shape your market from the ground up. You will be equipped for success through a comprehensive 24-week training program that takes you from recruiter fundamentals through to sales expert, covering cutting-edge technologies, client development, and the skills to build lasting partnerships.

This is a role for someone who is bold enough to pursue new opportunities, disciplined enough to see them through, and curious enough to keep getting better. Your trajectory here is determined by your results.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO

Business Development & Client Partnership

  • Apply a relationship-based sales approach to build and maintain a successful book of business
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities — push beyond the obvious and experiment with fresh approaches to expand your client portfolio
  • Understand client needs deeply and drive a relentless pursuit of solving their challenges with the right solution at the right time
  • Negotiate B2B contracts with integrity and see initiatives through to delivery
  • Cross-sell strategically and drive value in every client engagement
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices; share knowledge and insights with clients and colleagues

Recruitment & Delivery

  • Evaluate and place highly skilled IT professionals to match client requirements
  • Grow contractor headcount for your designated market and take action on leads passed
  • Follow up with pipeline and placed candidates to grow your professional network
  • Collaborate with the Hays delivery team to ensure quality outcomes for clients and candidates
  • Represent Hays at networking events to build stronger connections in your market

Growth & Development

  • Progress through the 24-week training program covering candidate engagement, business development, pipeline management, and strategic communication
  • Master tools including OneTouch and Sales Planner to run an efficient, high-performing desk
  • Participate in ongoing professional development with Hays Learning & Development
  • Actively showcase and live Hays values, vision, and standards for high performance

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 2+ years of experience in a sales-related role
  • Achievement-focused, resilient, authentic, and trustworthy
  • Self-motivated and self-reliant — you take initiative without being asked
  • Strong communicator with the ability to overcome obstacles and thrive as a team player
  • Genuine desire for personal development and professional growth

WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN

  • Base salary of $52,500 plus commission
  • Hybrid / flexible schedule
  • PTO starting at 22 days, plus 4 floating  — top performers earn unlimited PTO
  • Competitively priced medical, vision, and dental plans
  • 401(k) with guaranteed match and fast-paced vesting schedule
  • Comprehensive 24-week training program plus continuous L&D investment throughout your career
