As an Armed Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help maintain a secure transportation location by managing access points, verifying credentials, monitoring activity, and responding to security-related concerns. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and transportation personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and direct authorized individuals according to facility procedures.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access at gates, entrances, and restricted areas, following established protocols for deliveries, rail-related operations, and commercial transportation activity.
• Respond to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly reporting observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, business areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience, or possess a college degree.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortably use a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
