Job description

A Sound Beginning, LLC is a growing, patient-centered speech pathology clinic dedicated to helping children and adults achieve meaningful communication breakthroughs. Our team of passionate therapists provides high-quality, evidence-based care in a warm, collaborative environment. We’re seeking an experienced and organized Office Manager and Biller to keep our operations running smoothly so our clinicians can focus on what they do best—changing lives through speech therapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls professionally and provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and referral sources
  • Schedule new and existing clients efficiently
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and secure pre-authorizations as needed
  • Submit claims, follow up on outstanding claims, and appeal denials using our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Generate and manage patient invoices and statements
  • Oversee the patient portal, ensuring timely responses and accurate information
  • Assist with social media content creation and posting to increase community engagement
  • Perform light office cleaning and organization to maintain a welcoming environment
  • Support front-office operations and collaborate with the clinical team on administrative needs


Qualifications & Experience We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a medical or therapy office setting (speech pathology, pediatric therapy, or outpatient healthcare strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification, pre-authorization processes, medical billing, and claims follow-up
  • Proficiency with EMR systems
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Professional phone demeanor and outstanding written/verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with basic social media tools (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine desire to support families and clinicians
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certificate in medical coding/billing
