Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

A DJ at VIVA Karaoke X Studios is more than someone who plays songs — you’re the heartbeat of the Main Stage.

Your job is to:

  • Control the show: Organize the queue so every guest gets a fair chance to sing and the energy on stage stays high.
  • Light up the room: Use our state-of-the-art lighting and effects to keep the space vibrant and dynamic.
  • Hype & host: Interact with performers, encourage the audience, and make sure everyone feels welcome and celebrated.
  • Protect the vibe & the gear: Keep the booth organized, the equipment safe, and maintain a fun but controlled environment.

Your presence sets the tone for the night — from the first mic check to the last call.

Responsibilities:

Entertainment & Guest Experience

  • Run the Main Stage karaoke show: organize and balance the song queue, make fair and exciting transitions between performers.
  • Hype up the room — cheer for every guest, make short, upbeat announcements, and keep the energy flowing.
  • Use lighting and special effects (fog, haze, gobos, LED walls) to elevate the experience.
  • Encourage engagement — help guests add songs to the queue, promote drink specials, and support events like birthdays or VIP parties.

Technical & Equipment

  • Set up and test all sound, lighting, and karaoke software before each shift.
  • Monitor microphone and sound quality throughout the night.
  • Safeguard equipment; ensure only authorized staff handle gear and settings.
  • Report any technical issues or malfunctions promptly.

Team Support

  • Communicate with bartenders and servers (e.g., last call, birthdays, VIP details).
  • Assist with keeping the stage and booth area clean and organized.
  • Support management with special events and themed nights.

REQUIREMENTS

    ABOUT THE COMPANY

At Viva Karaoke x Studios, our success is built on more than music, drinks, and entertainment . it is built on the culture and standards we uphold every day. The WONGWAY represents the principles that guide how we operate, how we treat our guests, and how we support one another as a team.

It all began with the vision of Henry Wong, introducing the Karaoke experience from China to the market in the United States. He took over what used to be called Limelight Stage and Studios, creating a pretty well recognized name for the business in the city of Boston. With Boston being a melting pot, what better way to achieve the goal of bringing people together than through music! He then went on to create Stage Karaoke x Studio, the first karaoke business in the WongGuys Hospitality line. WongGuys went on to open a new karaoke Venue called “Viva Karaoke”.

Viva Karaoke x Studios is the flagship nightlife concept of WongGuys Group. A destination experience that reinvents the traditional karaoke bar into something refined, youthful, bold, bright, and urban. The venue features a full bar with state-of-the-art LED panels, intricate light shows, private karaoke Studios, and a Main Stage that transforms on weekends into a true nightclub atmosphere.
