Description

Command Post Technologies (CPT) is seeking an experienced and driven Cyber Range Operations Engineer to join our team supporting the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC) in Destin, FL. This is a dynamic, on-site position requiring a strong balance of technical expertise and collaboration skills to align event designs with stakeholder objectives.


Occasional travel may be required.


  • Supporting daily operations of the NCRC-Eglin cyber range by coordinating and executing the setup, configuration, and sustainment of event systems and infrastructure
  • Leading or assisting in configuring test environments, deploying virtual machines, managing network connections, and validating system readiness
  • Collaborating with event stakeholders, participants, and the Government to ensure proper range setup, system access, and event timeline adherence
  • Troubleshooting and resolving system, network, and connectivity issues during range execution
  • Applying risk mitigation practices, track issues, and support after-action reviews and range reset activities
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of range SOPs, technical documentation, and planning tools
  • Monitoring system and resource utilization during events to ensure range stability and performance
  • Maintaining configuration control and assisting in change management activities
  • Ensuring all technical activities comply with cybersecurity requirements, physical and personnel security controls, and documentation standards

Requirements

  • This job requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Cyber Security Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Engineering degree and 5 to 9 years of work-related experience
  • Active Top-Secret clearance
  • Experience providing support for planning, coordination, configuration, and execution of cyber T&E or training events
  • Familiarity with DoD IT systems, test support systems, and/or range infrastructure in classified and unclassified environments
  • Ability to independently apply technical knowledge across a variety of tasks related to test planning, execution, and range support
  • Strong technical writing skills to support preparation of event documentation, status updates, and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments
  • Ā Must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds without assistanceĀ 

Desired Skills

  • Prior experience working on a DoD cyber range or in a T&E/training environment
  • Familiarity with system configuration and operation of switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN technologies
  • Working knowledge of VMware tools including vSphere and ESXi
  • Ability to apply STIGs and maintain security posture across systems and networks
  • Familiarity with virtualized enclave segmentation, NetApp storage systems, and endpoint tools such as Kali Linux, pfSense, and Security Onion
  • Strong troubleshooting and system maintenance skills in both Windows and Linux environments
  • CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent technical certification
  • VMware Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Solutions certification a plus
  • Prior military or DoD contractor experience strongly desired
