  • Location: Bowie, MD
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime Availability)
  • Pay Range: $24.00 - $33.00 per hour
Job Summary
The Construction Landscape Foreman is responsible for leading and directing crew activities on active job sites according to project schedules, company standards, and safety procedures to ensure high-quality landscape construction services. Candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work, and able to work in various weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and changing environmental conditions.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, RFIs, budget worksheets, and submittal packages using iPads, laptops, and assigned technology
  • Assign daily tasks to crew members and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Record daily activities and complete crew timesheets as instructed by the Superintendent
  • Perform landscape installation tasks including:
    • Planting
    • Soil installation
    • Sodding/seeding
    • Drainage installation
    • Site furnishing installation
    • Pavers and hardscape installation
  • Safely operate landscape equipment including:
    • Skid steers
    • Dingos
    • Backpack blowers
    • Power tools
    • Wheelbarrows
  • Report equipment in need of repair to shop mechanic
  • Supervise safe loading and unloading of equipment
  • Assist with training and development of crew members
  • Communicate job site observations and updates with supervisors regularly
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and safety procedures
  • Promote positive working relationships with supervisors, peers, and crew members
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and customer service standards
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise crews of 2–6 employees
  • Facilitate conflict resolution between crew members
  • Evaluate crew performance and report findings to the Superintendent
Secondary Duties
  • Perform minor irrigation repairs and maintenance
  • Conduct minor in-field equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Support additional field operations as assigned
Qualifications
Required
  • 3–5 years of commercial landscape installation experience
  • Valid driver’s license issued by the state of employment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage crews
  • Ability to safely operate commercial landscape tools and equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
Preferred
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 Certification
Physical Demands amp; Working Conditions
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding outdoor work daily
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions including heat, humidity, cold, wind, and rain
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb, and balance
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent use of hands to handle tools, materials, and equipment
  • Must be able to work around loud noise, mechanical equipment, dust, fumes, and outdoor elements
  • Must be able to maintain focus and productivity in fast-paced job site environments
