This position will be based at Remote/Ashburn.
Responsibilities:
Build solution designs and integrate solution development for various network devices focused on SD-WAN implementation of Juniper network devices, includes integation of LAN, WAN, Video services, Wireless and 5G LTE. • Install, integrate, operate and maintain secure network implementation of wired/wireless LAN solutions
• Perform site surveys to design the network and identify the device placement and materials required to implement and configure wired/wireless LANs.
• Creates and delivers extensive documentation of the design, device location, required materials and integration approach for the wired/wireless network.
• Relies on extensive knowledge of networks to facilitate the design of wired/wireless LAN/WAN systems and enable their integration into an existing wired network.
• Performs test and evaluation of wired and wireless networks to confirm performance and security in accordance with established thresholds.
• Designs and tests prototype network components and configurations to validate designs prior to fielding
• Provides recommendations to eliminate problems and make improvements.
• Provides and authors detailed technical documentation to include proposal documentation, integration instructions, assembly.
• Trains technicians and junior engineers.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or experience (5-7 years).
• Candidate must be DoD 8140 Cyber IT Workforce compliant (Security+ or equiv)
• Professional level Juniper network Certification (JNCIP, JNCIE) with equivalent experience
• Extensive networking and network administration, configuration, upgrade and operations experience.
• Good technical writing skills with established experience producing reports using the Microsoft Office Suite including Visio. Knowledge of elementary design to the concept level.
• An understanding of telecommunication room (TR), CAT 6, crimps, and wiring standards. Having a BICSI certification is a plus.
• Experience with leading teams, site survey, site installation and configuration of 802.11 a/b/g/n Wireless Network equipment. Having Aruba certification is a plus.
• Use measuring and diagnostic equipment to test, adjust and optimize wireless network system operation.
• An understanding of wired networks to include equipment (router, switch and VPN), protocols (VLAN, Trunking and QoS) and the propagation of network traffic. Including SDWAN, VXLAN and EVPN.
• Experience working aloft and understanding of OSHA rules for work on man lifts.
• In accordance with our travel reimbursement policy, employees must pay for travel expenses in advance which will be timely reimbursed.
• The ability to travel up to 70% of the time.
• Exceptional people skills with focus on good customer relations and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of military and government personnel.
• A valid driver's license is also required.
