Job description

We're hiring an iOS Developer to own our native iPhone app — Swift, SwiftUI/UIKit, App Store — not a web frontend or React Native seat.

Summary
  • Flexible Title: Can tailor to reflect your skills & experience.
  • Flexible Time: Can do full-time, part-time, side-gig (off-hours), or fractional (contract).
  • Flexible Commitment: Can do short-term, long-term, or intermittent.
  • Native iOS required. Swift is the job. This is not a web, React, or React Native role.

Why so flexible? We're a FUNDED startup racing to launch end of Q3 2026. That gives us just 3 months to stack features while raising additional working capital. Feel free to jump in, help us ship, then bounce >> or stick around. A successful launch translates into lots of permanent jobs for those that want them. We're also interested in long-term "side gig" relationships, if that's what you're into—in our experience, a few expert hours often beat full-time learning-curve hours.

About Us

We're a credible, funded, remote-first startup backed by a growing team. We're pre-launch and moving fast.

About The Role

This is a native iOS seat. If your day-to-day is React, Vue, or a browser, this is not your posting — we have separate web roles for that.

We need someone who ships on Apple's stack: Swift, SwiftUI and/or UIKit, Xcode, TestFlight, and the App Store. You'll own screens, navigation, app lifecycle, device APIs, and the polish that makes an iPhone app feel native. We have a working product and a real engineering team; you won't be inventing the company, you'll be owning the iOS client.

This is ideal for someone with 2–5+ years of shipped iOS (App Store or enterprise) who wants startup ownership without becoming a full-stack web generalist.

Compensation

Up to $140,000 max total annual compensation in Tier 1 cities; cash and equity components to be negotiated. Given the flexible commitment model, comp will be structured accordingly — fractional or hourly arrangements welcome.

What You'll Do in Your First 7 Days
  • You've gotten the iOS project building in Xcode and submitted your first PR
  • You've reviewed app structure, navigation, and how we talk to APIs
  • You've attended your first engineering standup and know how the team communicates
  • You've shipped (or nearly shipped) a small native screen, fix, or polish pass
  • The team knows who you are, why you're here, and how you'll work together
What You'll Do Ongoing
  • Build native iOS — Swift screens, components, and flows in SwiftUI and/or UIKit
  • Ship through Apple's pipeline — TestFlight, signing, App Store review, and release notes
  • Own device-side reality — lifecycle, permissions, offline/poor network, and the details that make it feel like an iPhone app
  • Integrate with our APIs — you consume backends; you are not the web frontend or the primary backend owner
  • Keep the app healthy — tests, crash hygiene, and code the next iOS person can change
  • Participate in code reviews — review iOS PRs and learn from reviews of yours
What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 2–5+ years building native iOS in Swift (UIKit and/or SwiftUI) that real people used — App Store, TestFlight, or enterprise
  • Comfortable in Xcode: project setup, debugging, simulators, and shipping a build
  • Can read an existing iOS codebase and add to it without rewriting everything in a new framework
  • Understand iOS fundamentals: app lifecycle, Auto Layout or SwiftUI layout, networking from the client, Git
  • Strong async communicator — clear PR descriptions and you flag blockers early

Nice-to-have:

  • A live App Store link or GitHub you can point us to
  • Combine, Core Data / SwiftData, push notifications, or in-app purchases
  • Bootcamp, CS degree, or self-taught — we care about what you've shipped on iOS, not how you learned it
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
What You're NOT
  • Not a web frontend role — React, Vue, Angular, and CSS are a different posting
  • Not React Native or Flutter — we need native Swift, not a cross-platform wrapper
  • Not a backend / full-stack hire — you call APIs; you don't own the server or the web app
  • Not a junior "any language" developer — we need someone who already ships iOS
