This lead specialist position is a great opportunity to build both hard and soft skills and tackle meaningful challenges in the energy sector. This customer-focused person is to help implement and grow our corporate data historian environment and advanced analytics platforms. They will design solutions, install, and configure the historian software for new and existing facilities and serve as a subject matter expert (SME). This person will work on a team, which works closely with our Energy Transfer’s Operations groups; helping understand the business challenges and implement solutions leveraging the dataParc and SEEQ software. We encourage being the champion for improvements and ideas, as well as being team and project leaders for undertaking application implementations and upgrades. 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze/design/code/test/implement solutions according to company/industry best practices and standards.
  • Work with the customer to aid in the utilization, design, and use of the Capstone’s ParcView historian and SEEQ software including the development of displays, equations, data analysis, and system implementation.
  • Architecting and implementing historian solutions for individual oil & gas facilities.
  • Plan, implement, and support analytic solutions leveraging the SEEQ platform.
  • Lead planning and discussion meetings with customers to identify and analyze their process needs and help customers execute projects to meet those needs.
  • May lead and direct the work of others.
  • Work closely with business customers and senior management.
  • Develop and maintain documentation according to team standards.
  • Develop options and propose recommendations to customers.
  • Develop/validate/maintain business recovery procedures and application troubleshooting practices. 

Education:

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of time-series data. 
  • Experience with data historians.
  • Experience with AI and Machine Learning
  • Highly motivated, assertive self-starter that is goal-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with advanced time series tools like SEEQ or similar.
  • Strong understanding of time-series data and mathematics.
  • Working knowledge Python, SQL, VBA, and VB.NET.
  • Documentation experience including technical and functional documentation.
  • Ability to adhere to best practices and industry standards.
  • Experience with other historians such as OSI Pi welcomed.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline operations is a plus.
  • Team-oriented and dependable with well-developed interpersonal skills and work habits. 
  • High proficiency with Windows administration, security, networking
  • Experience in process, chemical industry, utilities is a plus
  • Min 5 years’ experience in Information Technology, windows workstation and server preferred
