About the Role

The Test Engineer role is responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and compliance of BetMGM applications across sports wagering features, platform updates, games and product integrations for regulated North American markets. As an experienced member of the Technology team, you will take ownership of testing efforts within your assigned area, applying strong technical judgment and a deep curiosity to uncover issues, understand system behavior, and drive continuous quality improvements pertaining to regulated functionality. This role reports into the Sr. Manager, Test Engineering.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on investigation, enjoys tinkering with systems to understand how they work, and takes pride in helping teams deliver high-quality products through thoughtful, thorough testing.

This role is fully remote with minimal travel within the province and to Alberta, or the Jersey City, NJ office.

This role must operate on Eastern Standard Time (EST) and may be required to be on call for emergency situations only.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute testing efforts for assigned features, products, or integrations, ensuring coverage of functional, exploratory, and regression testing needs

  • Collaborate with Technical Managers, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to define testing scope, risks, and acceptance criteria for features and releases

  • Perform application and platform testing on in-house and third-party integrations based on regulatory and technical requirements

  • Design, implement, and maintain manual test cases and applicable automated tests that provide meaningful feedback and support continuous delivery

  • Lead investigation, reproduction, and analysis of complex defects, including identifying root causes and articulating technical risks

  • Clearly document issues with actionable detail, traceability, and context, and drive defects through resolution in collaboration with engineering teams

  • Review, reproduce, and validate issues raised by external testing entities or partners

  • Proactively identify quality risks, gaps in coverage, or process inefficiencies and propose practical improvements

  • Mentor junior testers by reviewing test cases, sharing investigative techniques, and modeling strong quality practices

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience

  • 2+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a closely related technical role

  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycles, and quality best practices

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, JavaScript, or similar)

  • Experience designing, maintaining automated tests

  • Experience troubleshooting all major consumer operating systems (iOS, Android, MacOS, Windows)

  • Experience with testing and debugging web and mobile applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently investigate issues, reason about system behavior, and assess risk

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain findings and recommendations

  • Interest in sports wagering and interactive casino gaming technology is a plus

  • Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time

  • Occasional to semi-frequent travel for on-site field testing, with advance notice

Thecompensationfor this position isexpected to bein the rangeof$33.15 to $40.91. includinghourly wages, bonus, vacation pay, and statutory entitlements.Actual pay will bedeterminedbased on experience and other job-related factorspermittedby law.Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education,experienceand other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

It is a condition of employment in this position that the employee is and remains lawfully eligible to work in Canada.
