Job description

Data Analyst Position

Banner Quality Management Inc. (BQMI) is seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to support the Corporate Business Office (CBO) at NSWC Crane. This position will focus on designing, developing, and implementing advanced data analytics, reporting solutions, and business intelligence tools to support program performance, cost management, and schedule tracking.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data visualization, data architecture, business systems analysis, and process improvement, along with the ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Excel, and database management
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Secret level Clearance required

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Dashboard Development

  • Design, develop, and implement a suite of Power BI dashboards to meet program and stakeholder requirements
  • Connect to authoritative data sources and migrate legacy Excel-based data into enhanced database solutions
  • Develop visualizations to track contract performance, cost, and schedule metrics
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline data processing workflows
  • Create and document standardized dashboard development and delivery processes

Systems & Tools Management

  • Oversee and manage CBO systems and tools including:

  • Provide user support and interface assistance

Data Strategy & Architecture Support

  • Support NSWC Crane's data strategy initiatives, particularly in data architecture
  • Develop white papers, conceptual/logical data models, and business systems analyses
  • Provide recommendations on data standards, policies, and integration methods
  • Assist in infrastructure and systems assessments
  • Support predictive modeling, statistical simulation, and machine learning initiatives
  • Help transition of data science models into continuous production systems

Business Systems Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Develop, configure, or enhance business tools and systems based on defined requirements
  • Manage full data lifecycle processes for reporting and analytics solutions
  • Develop reporting databases using tools such as Excel, Access, SQL/.NET, and ERP-integrated systems
  • Produce documentation including architecture diagrams, process definitions, user instructions, and training materials
  • Conduct or oversee training for new and enhanced tools and processes

Data Analysis & Performance Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and report performance-related data
  • Apply statistical techniques for process and cost analysis
  • Identify cost reductions and efficiency improvements
  • Support planning, execution, and reporting of cost, schedule, and performance metrics
  • Provide written analyses and recommendations for Government review and decision-making

Technical Documentation & Communication

  • Prepare, review, and maintain process, technical, quality, systems, and user documentation
  • Write for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Gather and analyze product and system information to document new or changing capabilities
  • Develop innovative documentation methods such as video tutorials, demos, and digital guides
  • Collaborate with teams to produce user guides, tutorials, training materials, and procedural documentation
