Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Kforce client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test in the Miami or Dallas area.
Summary:
The Senior Software Engineer in Test will support the quality of a large-scale, customer-facing web platform by balancing hands-on manual testing with the advancement of a strong automation strategy. This role is focused on web application testing and will serve as a dedicated quality resource across multiple product pods.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining automated test coverage using modern web automation tools, with a strong emphasis on Playwright and JavaScript. The engineer will collaborate closely with software engineers and other automation specialists to determine what should be automated and at which level of the testing pyramid.
This role requires a strong engineering mindset, ownership of end-to-end quality efforts, and the ability to leverage AI-assisted testing tools to improve efficiency, coverage, and feedback loops. The Engineer will also contribute to documentation, troubleshooting quality-related issues, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality delivery.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* 5-7 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering
* Strong background in web application testing with a focus on automation
* Hands-on experience with Playwright (must-have)
* Proficiency in JavaScript for test automation
* Experience testing Next.js and React applications
* Ability to balance manual testing while driving automation strategy forward
* Experience designing and maintaining automated test suites across UI, API, and integration layers
* Familiarity with Agile development environments
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
