Job description

Note: Effective July 1, 2025, a 3% salary reduction is in place under the Personal Leave Program (PLP), with 5 hours of Personal Leave Credit earned monthly in exchange. This program is subject to change based on union agreements and state budget policy.

Under general direction the Housing and Community Development IT Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist II (IT Specialist II) serves as a technical expert responsible for development and ongoing support of HCD applications. The incumbent serves as a highly skilled technical specialist for the most complex applications, Salesforce platform, and other associated cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Copado, and PowerApps. The incumbent possesses expert skills in designing, coding, testing and maintaining custom, interactive, secure, data-driven enterprise applications; encompassing all phases of the System Development Life Cycle. Works with departmental management to design and develop Salesforce applications that support and enhance HCD programs.
The incumbent performs special IT projects as required. The incumbent mentors and develops junior software developers (IT Specialist I) of the HCD Connect Application Services team.

This position requires reporting to an HCD office a minimum of four days per week. In limited cases, at the Department's discretion, an employee may be approved to work in a remote centered capacity on a temporary basis until appropriate office space becomes available. The designated headquarters location will be based on the employee's primary residence and may be updated if HCD criteria are met.

  • Five years of solutions development experience, and three years of experience designing and delivering solutions in preferably cloud solutions and integration technologies like Salesforce, ServiceNow, MuleSoft etc.
