Job description

The Financial Analyst Junior is responsible for preparing routine financial reports and supporting analyses to assist management in understanding the bank's financial position. This role focuses on collecting, reviewing, and organizing financial data, as well as assisting in identifying trends and variances. Working under general supervision, the Analyst helps ensure timely and accurate reporting to support informed decision-making.

What You'll Do:

  • Performs data mining and querying to support turning raw data into meaningful information for reporting purposes.
  • Assists in preparing financial analyses that help improve information available to management.
  • Maintains and updates existing data analysis tools, reports, and templates under supervision.
  • Helps develop internal reports and dashboards to present financial data in a clear and consumable format.
  • Compiles pricing and volume data (e.g., interest rates, indexes, product averages, and outliers) for analysis.
  • Supports evaluations of products and business lines by gathering and organizing financial data related to profitability and concentration.
  • Tracks the impact of previously recommended actions and provides follow-up data for evaluation purposes.
  • Learns and applies department tools such as Tagetik, OneSumX, Prologue, and Qlik; assists in their setup and use.
  • Participates in the documentation and update of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitors variances in financial reports and follows up to identify discrepancies or missing data.
  • Performs other related duties and special assignments as requested by management to support department goals and initiatives.

  • 2 years expwerience in financial analysis, accounting, or related work is helpful; prior internship experience may be considered.
  • Experience applying problem-solving skills through statistical analysis or working with large data sets is highly preferable.
  • Ability to learn and use Business Intelligence (BI) tools and technologies to collect, evaluate, and analyze management information.

  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn Wolters Kluwer ERP systems, such as CCH Tagetik.
  • Experience using Python, SQL, or comparable tools to support data querying, validation, and financial analysis preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply independent judgment and discretion when reviewing financial data.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IFs, and SUMIFs; proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn Wolters Kluwer ERP systems, such as CCH Tagetik and OneSumX.

  • Experience working with large datasets and applying problem-solving techniques through data analysis.

  • Basic to intermediate experience with SQL or similar tools for data querying and validation.

  • Knowledge of financial concepts related to profitability, pricing, and risk.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
