Description
The news director for KMUL is responsible for collecting and publishing news briefs on kmulradio.com, covering news that happens on campus, recording a by-weekly newscast, and supervising student reporters.
Examples of Duties
Duties Include:
  • Reviewing UCM Daily and campus bulletin boards for flyers to produce news briefs to publish on Central News on KMULradio.com
  • Taking news briefs, recording VOX Pops, and reporting on news events to produce a by-weekly newscast to air at pre-scheduled times on KMUL
  • Working with and assigning news features to student reporters.

Typical Qualifications
Education:
  • Junior or Senior at the University of Central Missouri
Experience:
  • At least one year of high school or college journalism experience

Supplemental Information
Working Hours and Days:
  • Monday - Saturday 7:00 AM- 10:00 PM as scheduled
  • No more than 20 hours a week
