  • Build and maintain front-end applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, and React with a focus on responsive design, maintainability, and performance
  • Design, develop, and support back-end applications, RESTful application programming interfaces, and data processing pipelines using Java and Python
  • Contribute to scalable cloud-native solutions, including Amazon Web Services Simple Storage Service and data lake environments, to support application and data needs
  • Apply DevOps practices, including Docker containerization, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, automated testing, and error handling to support reliable software delivery
  • Use Git, GitLab, and Airflow to manage codebases, automate workflows, and support software solutions aligned to stakeholder and mission-specific requirements, including U.S. Army environments where applicable

In this role, the Senior Engineering Management Specialist supports cross-functional coordination, execution tracking, and continuous improvement across engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar field
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining server-side applications and services using Java and Python
  • 2+ years of experience developing RESTful application programming interfaces and data processing pipelines
  • 2+ years of experience using Apache Airflow or Kafka to build, schedule, monitor, or troubleshoot workflows and data pipelines
  • 2+ years of experience using Git or GitLab for version control and codebase management
  • Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance

Preferred:

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services Simple Storage Service, data lake solutions, or cloud-native application deployment
  • Experience with Docker containerization, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, automated testing, and production error handling
  • Experience supporting software solutions for U.S. Army or Department of Defense environments

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $119,000 to $198,400.
