Job Description JUNIOR CERTIFICATE MANAGEMENT ENGINEER Enterprise Security, Infrastructure & Middleware Support ENGAGEMENT Contract WORK MODEL On-site Monday-Friday INDUSTRY Enterprise Technology PREFERRED LOCATION Phoenix, Arizona ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS Columbus, Ohio / Dallas, Texas EXPERIENCE LEVEL Junior / Early Career Position Overview A large enterprise technology organization is seeking an early-career IT professional to support digital certificates across applications, servers, websites, APIs, and middleware. This person will monitor expirations, coordinate renewals, assist with installation and validation, maintain accurate records, and troubleshoot routine certificate issues while building enterprise security and infrastructure experience. What You'll Own Monitor certificate inventories and flag upcoming expirations before they threaten service continuity.

Keep certificate owners, expiration dates, system locations, status, and renewal activity current. Open and track requests for new, renewed, or replacement certificates through completion. Coordinate renewals with application, infrastructure, middleware, network, and security teams.

Assist with certificate installation and replacement on supported systems and platforms. Validate changes and confirm that applications, integrations, and encrypted connections work correctly. Investigate SSL/TLS warnings, expirations, trust-chain failures, and common configuration problems.

Escalate complex encryption, production, or platform issues to senior technical resources. Follow change controls across development, test, and production environments. Maintain procedures, runbooks, inventories, tickets, and audit-ready records.

Help improve monitoring, automate repeatable work, and support related enterprise tools or middleware. Required Qualifications Six months to two years of experience in IT support, network operations, systems administration, application support, cybersecurity, or a related field. Foundational knowledge of digital certificates, SSL/TLS, encryption, or secure communications.

Basic familiarity with Windows or Linux and common enterprise technology concepts. Ability to follow documented procedures, security controls, and change requirements. Strong attention to detail when tracking deadlines, requests, owners, and dependencies.

Effective troubleshooting, organization, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate across technical teams and learn unfamiliar technologies. Availability to work on-site Monday-Friday in Phoenix; Columbus or Dallas candidates will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications Associate or bachelor degree in IT, computer science, cybersecurity, networking, or a related discipline. Experience in a NOC, service desk, application support, infrastructure support, or IT operations. Exposure to PKI, certificate authorities, Microsoft AD CS, DigiCert, Venafi, Keyfactor, or similar tools.

Familiarity with IIS, Apache, NGINX, Tomcat, Java keystores, middleware, ServiceNow, or another ITSM platform. Basic PowerShell, Python, or other scripting experience; regulated-industry exposure is beneficial. Success in This Role Renewals begin early and finish before they create avoidable outages or security concerns.

Inventory, ownership, ticket, and installation records remain current and audit-ready. Installation and validation work is completed carefully and follows change controls. Routine issues are diagnosed promptly, documented clearly, and escalated appropriately.

Technical capability grows across certificate management, security, infrastructure, middleware, and automation.
