Job description

Dekker is seeking a diligent and motivated Project Manager to join our talented Multifamily Communities studio. This role is responsible for guiding projects from concept through construction, aligning client goals, design vision, and technical execution. The Project Manager fosters collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. The Project Manager plays a key role in shaping thoughtful, efficient, and community-focused housing solutions that reflect Dekker's commitment to design excellence and positive impact.
Responsibilities
  • Lead client-focused project teams through all phases, from concept through construction closeout
  • Translate client goals into actionable project plans that guide team structure, scope, and schedule
  • Coordinate internal and consultant teams, clearly defining tasks, deliverables, and roles
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget throughout the life of a project
  • Track performance against project milestones and provide clear, timely updates to stakeholders
  • Anticipate project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies
  • Ensure high-quality documentation, coordination, and compliance with all project requirements
  • Maintain awareness of client expectations, industry best practices, and quality standards
  • Participate in strategic discussions related to studio operations and project delivery methods
  • Bring curiosity and accountability to everything-from design meetings to project administration

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is required; candidates without a degree will be considered based on equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of project delivery methods, regulatory processes, fee structures, and construction phases
  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills with the ability to lead conversations and resolve issues collaboratively
  • Proficiency in project management and architectural tools, such as Revit, are a plus.
  • PMP certification (preferred but not required)
  • Applicants must reside near Albuquerque, Phoenix, or El Paso
