Job description

Junior Privacy Analyst
TechOp Solutions International is seeking a Junior Privacy Analyst to support DHS' privacy compliance. The Junior Privacy Analyst will assist with information gathering, privacy documentation, assessment tracking, stakeholder coordination, research, and quality control.
This position is well suited for an early-career privacy, cybersecurity, GRC, RMF, information-systems, or federal compliance professional with strong research and writing skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the maintenance of PTAs, PIAs, SORNs, and related privacy documentation.
  • Capture and organize information concerning systems, business processes, data collection, data sharing, user access, retention, and security safeguards.
  • Research system documentation, policies, authorities, and existing privacy materials.
  • Review documents for completeness, consistency, formatting, grammar, and internal quality standards.
  • Track assessments, action items, stakeholder responses, revisions, approvals, and deadlines.
  • Identify missing or conflicting information and elevate questions to senior analysts.
  • Assist with status reports, metrics, inventories, and other program documentation.
  • Protect sensitive information and follow applicable privacy and information-handling requirements.

Requirements
  • A High School Diploma with at least 2 years of experience in a professional setting.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand and document technical and operational information.
  • Familiarity with personally identifiable information and responsible information handling.
  • Ability to follow established templates, procedures, and quality-control standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and related business applications.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to satisfy applicable federal background investigation, suitability, or security requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, information technology, public policy, legal studies, business, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • At least one year of experience/education/and or training in one or more of the following areas:
    • Privacy or information governance
    • Cybersecurity compliance
    • RMF or authorization support
    • Governance, risk, and compliance
    • System analysis
    • Records or information management
    • Technical documentation
  • Familiarity with NIST Risk Management Framework, or NIST SP 800-53 controls.
