Job Profile
Job Summary
The Process Engineer I, Operational Excellence, focuses on analyzing and re-engineering existing clinical and operational processes to ensure sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable process improvements. The majority of time is spent on the delivery, implementation or design of processes, programs and polices using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education. The Jr. Process Engineer works to achieve operational, functional, and/or business targets within various areas across Harris Health System.
This individual continuously improves on processes and systems that may require understanding of a broader set of issues or other job areas, and may work independently on larger, moderately complex projects/ assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees: Bachelors in Industrial/Systems Engineering, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
Licenses & Certifications:
Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB)/Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB)/Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB)/Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) preferred
Certified Quality Engineer preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) - Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred
Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience
Communication Skills: Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Writing/ Correspondence

Other Requirements
- Requires theoretical knowledge, often gained through a combination of experience and/or advanced education, college / university degree Bachelors
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and tools (LSS, PDCA, QA/QC tools, SPC, RCA, CAPA, statistical testing, MSA, time studies)
- Prefer exposure to simulation used to solve complex business process challenges
- Prefer exposure to project management processes / methodologies and be able to support projects, utilizing PM framework
- Must have solid presentation and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Excel, and Project), statistical software (i.e. Minitab)
