About the role
As the Lead NOC Engineer, you will serve as the technical and operational lead for the Network Operations Center (NOC) team. You will assist the NOC Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring timely resolution of complex network issues, and maintaining high standards of service delivery. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced, enterprise-scale environment.
What you'll be doing:
Leadership & Team Support
  • Act as the first point of escalation for NOC Engineers.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members in resolving complex network outages and service interruptions.
  • Ensure priority SLA incidents are appropriately distributed and addressed.
  • Oversee onboarding and training of new NOC team members.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining internal training materials and documentation.

Operational Excellence
  • Ensure accurate and timely ticket updates and communications to stakeholders.
  • Supervise end-to-end network documentation and ensure consistency across the team.
  • Monitor adherence to MAC procedures and departmental SOPs.
  • Support continuous operations in a 24x7x365 staffed environment

Technical Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Level 3 and Level 4 network issues independently and collaboratively.
  • Develop and apply testing and troubleshooting plans for network infrastructure.
  • Manage and test ILEC/CLEC circuit cutovers and upgrades.
  • Perform physical installation, configuration, and testing of core network components.
  • Review onsite surveys for wired and wireless access as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams and client staff, both technical and non-technical.
  • Work closely with project managers to meet milestones and deliverables.
  • Support change management, incident management, and escalation processes.

What you'll bring:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field. Equivalent experience accepted.
  • CCNP/DP or higher certification.
  • Wireless certification (CWNA/CWNP, Cisco, or Aruba).
  • 7+ years of experience supporting large enterprise and campus LAN/WLAN environments.
  • Strong understanding of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Static Routing.
  • Experience with Radius, DHCP, DNS, NAT appliances, and Load Balancers.
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage high-pressure situations.
