Job description

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES  include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

Assist in the maintenance, building, programming, testing, and implementing the MCCNO’s facility network/backbone to ensure proper function. 

  • Oversee the day- to- day operations of facility wired and wireless networks.  
  • Collaborate with field staff to troubleshoot network issues as they arise. 
  • Recommend and work in conjunction with third party consultants for networking initiatives.   
  • Assist in maintaining full infrastructure as-built documentation and modify as needed.  
  • Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations regarding integration of these technologies into existing network.   

Assist in coordination of all activities relative to short term and long term network plans as well as the development and operation of the MCCNO infrastructure and core.  

  • Monitor technology trends to ensure that services meet industry standards and determine modifications and improvements where necessary.  

Perform troubleshooting by diagnosing and resolving complex network problems/failures; determine root cause and mitigation/remediation efforts to avoid problem recurrence. 

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all core network-related issues and outages, including day-to-day support and proactive maintenance of network and security.   
  • Interact with carriers and other third-party vendors as needed for remediation.  
  • Work with other staff, vendors, contractors, business partners, and other IT groups to problem-solve and coordinate network functions of all departments to ensure that operating requirements of the MCCNO are accomplished in an efficient manner.  

Coordinate with other network personnel to ensure that network needs are considered for ancillary functions. 

  • Ensure connectivity to off-site storage and archives. 
  • Assist in coordinating the development and implementation of the disaster recovery plan.   
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to maintain network functions at alternate locations in the event of a disaster.

  • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively and confidently communicate complex concepts – in speaking and writing –with team members and stakeholders of all technical and non-technical levels.  
  • Own the customer experience – ability to think and act in ways that prioritize customer satisfaction, provide seamless digital options at every touchpoint, and foster customer loyalty and promotion.  
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people in high pressure situations with a goal of having the client become or continue as a repeat customer.    
  • Ability to create diagrams, policies, procedures, presentations, etc., as needed for day-to-day management as well as read blueprints/schematics, etc. as needed for planning/issue remediation 
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully, work through problems logically, attempt solutions independently, and think beyond the immediate need presented.  
  • Excellent attention to detail, quality, and follow-through; commitment to continuous improvement and the elimination of performance variability.
