Position Summary:

The Junior Network Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the firm's network infrastructure and cloud environment. This role assists with configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining both on-premises and cloud-based systems to ensure reliable connectivity, security, and performance.

The ideal candidate should have foundational knowledge of networking technologies and cloud platforms, along with a strong interest in infrastructure, cloud computing, automation, and cybersecurity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
  • Support cloud infrastructure administration across Microsoft Azure
  • Monitor network and cloud environments to ensure system availability, performance, and security
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, VPN, DNS, routing, and cloud-related issues
  • Participate in cloud migration and infrastructure modernization projects
  • Perform routine system updates, backups, patching, and maintenance tasks
  • Document network configurations, cloud resources, and operational procedures
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and IT teams on infrastructure projects and issue resolution
  • Support security best practices, including firewall policies, MFA, and monitoring
  • Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, Cloud Computing, or related field
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems
  • Understanding of basic cybersecurity and cloud security concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrates adaptability to shifting priorities and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with hardware from vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto, or Fortinet.
