Job Summary:
Delaware Park Casino is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to monitor and maintain the performance of their Cisco network infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting network issues, assisting with network security practices, and supporting daily operational tasks related to network management.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Responsible for the overall monitoring, health, and performance of the Cisco network (switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure).
โ€ข Support senior 3rd party engineers in configuring and maintaining LAN, WAN, and VLANs across the organization.
โ€ข Help troubleshoot network issues and escalate to senior team members as needed.
โ€ข Assist with implementing network security best practices, including access control, patching, and firewall rule updates.
โ€ข Responsible for network documentation, including diagrams, inventories, and configuration records.
โ€ข Support daily operational tasks such as port activations, cable tracing, equipment labeling, and hardware installations.
โ€ข Maintain network monitoring tools and respond to alerts.
โ€ข Assist with backup and restoration processes for network-related systems.
โ€ข Support workstation, server, and network equipment imaging, configuration, and deployment tasks.
โ€ข Participate in routine preventive maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure.
โ€ข Contribute to infrastructure improvement projects under guidance from senior staff.
โ€ข Maintain strong customer service standards when assisting employees with connectivity issues.

Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Minimum seven (5) years in MIS and the Computer Industry.
โ€ข Experience managing Microsoft Windows Systems
โ€ข Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VPN).
โ€ข Solid understanding of ASA/Firepower firewalls and network security fundamentals.
โ€ข Strong experience with Cisco WAN, LAN, and WIFI equipment and software
โ€ข Strong experience with Cisco IOS, Nexus OS experience is a MUST
โ€ข Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
โ€ข Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the business, including weekends and holidays.
