As a Senior Software Developer, you will independently own major components from design to delivery. You will solve complex technical problems, make technical decisions within your domain, and act as a technical backbone for the team. You'll collaborate with talented colleagues worldwide, leverage cutting-edge technologies including AI and play a key role in advancing industry-leading products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with your team and other talented engineers to design, plan, develop, refactor, test, deliver and maintain complex features across desktop applications, components, and cloud services

  • Work closely with the product owners, experience designers, and product management teams to review and implement proposed designs

  • Prototype, implement, and maintain production-grade software and components

  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system stability

  • Embrace Agile and LEAN methodologies as an active member of a Scrum team, driving continuous improvement

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and elevate the technical proficiency of the team

  • Engage in cross-team collaborations, influencing technical direction and ensuring alignment with organizational goals

  • Proactively learn and share new technologies, stay current with the latest AI trends and actively contribute ideas for integrating AI into our products and workflows that create tangible value for customers

  • Gather and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve product quality and user experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in software engineering or equivalent

  • 5+ years of working experience in large-scale software development, with the successful completion of two or more commercial software development cycles

  • Sophisticated programming skills with C++ and rich experience using Visual Studio toolsets

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD)

  • Experience in performance tuning, debugging, and system analysis

  • Good analytical and design skills at the product level

  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience working in scaled Scrum teams with multiple groups collaborating on shared deliverables

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and drive project progress

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipeline design, installation, and test automation

  • Experience with C#, .NET, Python

  • Background or education in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry

  • Familiarity with computational geometry

  • Experience with cloud services and web technologies

  • Knowledge of databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, SQLite)

  • Practical experience with AI technologies, frameworks, or platforms

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $107,000 and $157,300. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
